| An NHS paramedic joined Stand Up To Racism’s online meeting on Tuesday, Covid19, Racism & the ‘Hostile Environment’ – watch her inspiring video here Last week we mourned the loss of many Muslim doctors and nurses to the coronavirus. Coming so soon after a raft of racist policy from Johnson’s cabinet early in the new year, it is shocking that black, Asian and migrant workers in our NHS who are putting their lives on the line are also having to encounter the Tories racist ‘hostile environment’, with a surcharge in the NHS for migrants, meaning many will be fearful of seeking care if they are I’ll, and with the attack on migrant workers meaning many have left the NHS. Tonight Stand Up To Racism will be remembering those who lost their lives, demanding PPE and testing, but also highlighting that we need to fight this racist hostile environment as a matter of urgency.
