Justice for Shukri Abdi: Black Lives Matter

Stand Up To Racism will be joining Saturday’s Black Lives Matter protest calling for #JusticeForShukriAbdi in Hyde Park, London, and across the locations including Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Sheffield, Leicester, Bristol and Cardiff. Demonstrations calling for #JusticeForShukri are also taking place in Los Angeles in the US, and Toronto in Canada. Stand Up To Racism and is looking for volunteers to help out – including social distancing stewarding, and safely distributing masks, gloves and sanitizer On Saturday there are a series of #BlackLivesMatter protests happening around Britain demanding #JusticeForShukriAbdi Shukri Abdi was a 12 year old of Somali heritage who tragically drowned in Greater Manchester last summer. There hasn’t yet been any serious investigation into Shukri’s drowning, the actions of the public bodies or even the bullying she was subject to. Stand Up To Racism is also in solidarity with the #BlackLivesMatter protest in central London on Sunday (for more details follow @AllBlackLivesUK on Twitter).
