TUC and Stand up To Racism have called for a day of mobilisation for UN Anti Racism Day on Thursday 18th February to build awareness and participation for activities on 20th March.
In Britain, the day of action is being called by Stand Up To Racism and the Trade Union Congress (TUC). Safely socially distanced actions where possible will be combined with international linked online actions, including a major global rally at 5pm GMT.
On 18th February, across social media, unions, local groups, campaigns, faith and community organisations and individuals are encouraged to promote UN Anti Racism Day, with a Twitterstorm between 11am and 12 noon.
Here are a number of things you can do to support the mobilisation:
- Add our custom made Facebook filter to your profile picture to build awareness for UN Anti Racism Day – web.facebook.com/profilepicframes/?selected_overlay_id=3845720698813328
- Download our poster, take a picture with it and between 11am and 12 noon tweet your support, and tag us ‘@Antiracismday‘ on Twitter using the hashtag #NoRacismNoFascism & #WorldAgainstRacism, ‘@Stand Up To Racism’ on Facebook, and ‘@Standuptoracismuk’ on Instagram.
- Invite your family and friends to our international rally on Saturday 20 March 5pm GMT: https://fb.me/e/fzdKReOfI
If you would like support and ideas for what you could do in your workplace (virtually or physically), college, street, community etc, please email us at info@standuptoracism.org.uk to find out what is happening in your area or for ideas of how you can support and join the day of action.
For trade union Stand Up To Racism supporters, the conference (online) on 27 February will be a crucial space to discuss, learn from and organise with hundreds of other trade union anti racist activists to fight for anti racist workplaces and to deliver strong trade union involvement for UN Anti Racism Day of protest on 20 March.
