November marks the beginning of Islamophobia Awareness Month (IAM). A month dedicated to raising awareness of the rising tide of hate crimes against Muslims. IAM is supported by various Muslim and non-Muslim organisations and will involve meetings, seminars, workshops and conferences to raise awareness of the issue.
Stand Up To Racism is working alongside Muslim Engagement and Development (MEND) and FOSIS to organise school assemblies, events on college/university campuses and in other workplaces to both highlight and combat Islamophobia.
SUTR is calling on groups to work alongside local Mosques, trade unions, student unions and other faith communities for a week of action beginning 21 November.
