How to stop Reform UK – report from Haverford west where Reform candidate came fourth with 71 votes
How to stop Reform UK – report from activist in Haverfordwest
The difference between the Haverfordwest by-election where the Reform candidate came fourth with 71 votes, and the Torfaen by-election where the Reform candidate came first with 457 votes, is that every house in the Haverfordwest ward was leafletted with a ‘Reform is a racist party’ leaflet.
The Haverfordwest Reform candidate clearly blamed SUTR for his poor showing. He said, “Having to explain to people I had never met on their doorsteps why I am not a racist was difficult and embarrassing”.
The lesson is that when Reform stand in a by election and we don’t have a SUTR presence, we have to go there and leaflet to identify antiracists. It only takes a day of about 10 people to cover a whole ward with leaflets. ing
