Refugee Festival Scotland 12-22 June
Refugee Festival Scotland runs from 13 – 22 June. This year marks 25 years of the festival, and the Scottish Refugee Council’s 40th.
It comes as we see an alarming rise in support for racist, Islamophobic and far-right ideas – across the world, and here in Scotland.
At least 82 people, including 14 children, died trying to cross the Channel in 2024. Meanwhile, the government is boasting record deportation number in a shameful bid to pander to far-right pressure.
Refugees and migrants are the lifeblood of the NHS, the care system and other public services which we all depend on, and are an integral part of our communities, workplaces and families. Refugees and migrants are part of the fightback for a better society.
- Join us to show a majority of people in Scotland welcome refugees and migrants.
- Join us to demand safe passage, and support the ‘Lift the Ban’ campaign to grant asylum seekers the right to work.
- Join us to show that we won’t be divided by racism and that together we demand change.
The march through the city centre will be followed by a major music event in the city centre. Speakers and line-up TBA.
