The refugee crisis has become the foremost political issue in Europe. Across the continent refugees have shown tremendous resilience surviving appalling conditions in camps.
The solidarity shown by those welcoming them has been a notable feature of the crisis. Solidarity is crucial more than ever, as large scale deportations of refugees commence as a result of the EU/Turkey deal.
The summit will seek to discuss how we build on solidarity initiatives with refugees, and strengthen anti-racist arguments that challenge the myths around immigration.
It will also include a mobilising rally for anyone who wants to be a part of a major aid convoy to Calais on the 18th June which Stand Up To Racism is organising in conjunction with the trade unions, People’s Assembly Against Austerity and others.
