Protest at Forest Gate police station, 2pm, Sunday 25 June #Justice4Edson

There is massive concern over the death of a young man,  Edir Frederico Da Costa, (known as Edson) after he was  arrested by the police in the borough of Newham, East London.

Edson was pulled up in a car by police on 15 June.

The IPCC C said, “It is believed police officers used force and deployed CS spray” against Edson.

His family say Edson’s injuries included a broken neck, a fractured skull and a ruptured bladder.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the family. The page asks people to help “get justice for the cruel and brutal beating of a father, a son, a brother, cousin, uncle and dear friend”.

Edson was  in hospital for six days on life support before his death.
