Stop Reform UK
There are just a few weeks to go until crucial elections on 7 May where Reform UK want to make a breakthrough. And we are just a month away from the fascist Tommy Robinson’s next ‘Unite the Kingdoms’ demo on 16 May. What happens in the localities, opposing far right mobilisations and building opposition to Reform will make all the difference. We know – if we didn’t before – after 28 March’s massive Together demo that we are the antiracist majority. We have to mobilise that majority – starting with this Sunday’s first SUTR day of action against Reform – and ending with a massive turn out against Robinson on 16 May.

Glasgow
MASSIVE thank you to Glasgow for coming out today in HUGE numbers to show the “Army of Angry Scottish men” that this city is OUR city ✊✊✊
500 anti-racists held the steps, refusing to let the measly rump of 50 racists anywhere near them! Their “army” soon dwindled to a pathetic group of 20, spouting racist nonsense and playing frankly terrible music while they were kettled by police.
Glasgow, we showed up today – as we always have done, and always will – to reject hatred and to stand in solidarity with our migrant brothers and sisters.
We formed the Women Against the Far Right campaign because we were sick and tired of violence against women being weaponised to further a racist agenda by people who are themselves a threat to women. Today, and for however long it takes, we will show up in our numbers whenever the far right threaten to take our streets.
Thanks to our brilliant speakers, our wonderful stewards, and every single anti-fascist who joined us today ✊
Brilliant numbers out for unity march through the North of Glasgow in some of the top targets for Reform UK. Massive well done to all the local antiracists. Third blow to Reform in the programme of 10+ marches coordinated by SUTR Scotland during the election campaign across Scotland. Struggle, and not tactical voting or accommodation with racism, can push back the far right.

Wakefield
Today’s SUTR counter in Wakefield was very positive. Various usual people were away or unable to be there, but we still had 40/45 people, lots of placards and leaflets, a good atmosphere, chanting and music, a whole range of good conversations with people, lots thanking us for being there, plus a number of people, some new to the protests, joining up to our WA group.
Their march (Five Towns Migrant Watch) looked a bit pathetic, there was virtually no chanting from them, and it looked like half their numbers on the march sloped off to the pub before they got back. Fewer auditors than previously. Definitely not a great success for them, and they’re not pulling new people. About equal numbers on both sides – 45/50. We had quite a few ‘regulars’ away or unavailable.

Newcastle
Yesterday at the New Bridge Hotel marked 9 months of counter protesting. There was about 20 FR and 30 on the counter demo. Music was played which drowned out the awful AI music from the other side There was a placard making station and creative placards were made. Testament to all those involved that we continue to challenge racism on the streets of Newcastle.

Manchester
Solidarity for Ameen at the Greater Manchester Stop Reform campaign meeting today ✊

Shrewsbury
In little old Shrewsbury town today, 50 assorted anti-racists/anti-fascists from various groups and promoted by SUTR Shropshire & Telford, stood in unity and supporting diversity against a small group of 7 individuals gathered displaying flags (to show their patriotism of course), voicing support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza and shouting Islamophobic abuse, in an incident made more concerning by the presence of an elected councillor standing alongside them. She was booted out of Reform and didn’t like them for being too centrist and has now joined Advance UK. There were many many more of us than them. Their behaviour and statements they shouted made our job easier.

Wolverhampton
Counter protest in Wolverhampton today against the far right. Similar numbers both sides – we had drummers and vuvuzelas to drown them out..
East of England
Norwich
Unite the Right assembled 20-25 people for their march in Norwich. We stopped them from starting at the Eagle pub, the landlord stood with us outside and they had to relocate.
South of England
Crowborough
Last week in Crowborough 5 of us gathered for a peaceful demonstration of kindness.
This week 9 of us gathered . We stood by a passing crowd of about 2-300 protesters wuth flags . Loud megaphones chanting deportation and one or two slurs .
We received cheers, beeps , thumbs up from passers by .
We will be there every week, every Sunday Crowborough Piazza 11-12
No branding
No chanting
Just kindness.
Thank you to everyone who is supporting.
Bournemouth
15-20 Far Right in Bournemouth tonight almost half from Hampshire, very few locals. They had a sad little march with 10 of them. No sign of the group that split away.
About 30 of us loud & proud.
I counted 7 or 8 Hampshire Resistance tonight out of a crowd of about 15.
Also 7 SUTR supporters leafleted Ashley Road in Parkstone in Bournemouth at lunchtime, allegedly “Reform territory” we were well received, no hassle barring a few muttered “stop the boats” comments

Southampton
Another miserable turnout for the far right, the so-called Southampton “Patriots”, outside the Highfield House Hotel this evening — even fewer than last week, scraping together just over 20, with reinforcements drafted in from outside Southampton. The same tired, childish chants, the same angry rants… and the same complete lack of support from the wider community.
In contrast, over 50 of us came together in solidarity with refugees. That’s more than double their numbers, and it speaks volumes.
Thank you to every single person who showed up. You are what makes this city strong.
This is what real community looks like. ❤️✊
Southampton stands for unity, not hate.
London

Croyden
Protest outside Croydon Town Hall as Muslim community prepares for May 16th against Tommy Robinson
‘Hands of AlAqsa’ last night. May 16th leaflets given out – all main speakers, including myself from SUTR, talked about the necessity of marching on M16 against the FR. The Imam who organised it mentioned M28 and said we will get a million against TR! 🤞🏼
Stopping Reform on 7 May

Twickenham Stopping Reform on 7 May
Today we did a WAFR stall before the Ireland vs England women’s rugby games opening 6 nations game. We took £230 on donations for badges. We sold all our women’s rugby players against far right badges, gave out over 1k leaflets. We got 60 sign ups, did an 1.5 hrs and if we’d started earlier think we could given out more.

Chingford Stopping Reform on 7 May
11 people from WF SUTR and Chingford Amnesty delivered 700 tabloids through doors in Hatchlane and Highams Park north ward in Chingford on Sunday. For some people this was their first time leafletting with us. The ward currently has 3 Reform councillors who defected from the Tories. We met in a local Turkish cafe -(the staff also liked the SUTR bulletin and took copies.)
Swansea Stopping Reform on 7 May
Six of us braved the hail to leaflet against Reform in West Cross, Swansea, where the lead Reform candidate is an associate of far right and Fascist activists.

Hull Stopping Reform on 7 May
Leafleting today in Hull town centre

Liverpool City Region Stopping Reform on 7 May
Thank you all who joined our Merseyside Stand Up To Racism Campaign Day today in St Helens with local people against racist far-right Reform UK. We gave out lots of leaflets and had lots of great conversations. More activity planned. Solidarity ❤️.

Caerphilly Stopping Reform on 7 May
Very positive in Caerphilly. ✊🏴❤️But don’t be fooled by the sunshine. We’re still drying and warming up after the hailstorm!
Monitoring Group Report
I think we need to start with the anti racist mobilisations in Scotland – Glasgow and Edinburgh, they were impressive.
Across a number of towns, far-right turnouts are small. Bournemouth, Southampton and elsewhere—low numbers, often reliant on people travelling in. Not much evidence of deep local roots. When they do appear, anti-racists are there as well generally with numbers looking good-sometimes more numerous, sometimes just more organised and more audible, but consistently present.
The continued large far right presence in Crowborough has to be noted but also the brave SUTR and others counter.
The far right depends heavily on appearances—looking like a force, looking like it speaks for a place. When it can’t manage that, the limits show quite quickly.
These groups have a track record of shrinking and reappearing. A weak turnout one week can be followed by something larger if the conditions shift or if a figure with reach pulls things together.
That’s where May 16 becomes important, with Tommy Robinson trying to mobilise again.
He has form when it comes to drawing different layers together—street activists, online followers, people influenced by the wider anti-migrant mood. The visibility can give an impression of momentum if it goes unchallenged.
So the recent local anti fascist protests matter. They show people turning up, gaining experience, getting used to confronting the far right in public building confidence, which isn’t trivial.
Alongside that, there’s the slower work—leafleting against Reform in places like Hull, Swansea, Merseyside, Caerphilly. Small groups having conversations rather than rallies. The response sounds mixed but generally open. Not a groundswell of hostility, but not an absence of reaction either. The ideas are around, just not always organised.
It is crucial then to campaign against Reform in the May 7 elections.
May 16 is also important. A visible far-right mobilisation, especially around a recognised figure like Robinson, can shift the tone.
The reverse is also true. A strong counter-presence limits that effect, makes it harder to claim momentum, and reinforce the sense that these ideas are contested wherever they appear.
The far right in local areas looks patchy and inconsistent rather than advancing evenly. Anti-racist organising is active and, in places, confident—but still developing in scale.
But there is the sense of groundwork being laid on our side. Necessary with May 7 and May 16 on the horizon.
