Over 150 people attended a vigil out side Leeds Art Gallery on Tuesday. It was jointly supported by MEND , Angels of Youth and Leeds Stand up to racism.
The theme was unity vigil in solidarity with Manchester – Don’t let the racists divide us.
Young men and women from Angels of Youth spoke elequently about how previous horrendous events had led to increased attacks on them as Muslims. Local leaders from the Asian Community called for Unity .
Labour Councillor Alison Lowe spoke alongside Labour candidate Alex Sobel calling for solidarity with the Manchester victims .
People held “love music hate racism ” placards In the crowd that sent a message to those who attended the concert.
