The Police Crime Sentencing and Courts bill proposed by the government is an outright attack on our right to protest by giving the police powers to curtail protest they don’t like.
The bill also includes 10 years in prison for pulling down a statue, which is clearly aimed at the #BlackLivesMatter movement. Environmental campaigners, trade unions and the Gypsy Roma Traveler community are also targeted in this bill.
Stand Up to Racism supports the kill the bill campaign, we encourage our members and supporters to join protests on 1st May to oppose the Police and Crime Bill and commemorate International Workers’ Day.
