Stand Up to Racism is part of an international network of anti-racist organisations and recognises that the far right and racists also organise and support one another internationally.
We recognise that there is a line from Steve Bannon to Tommy Robinson to far right Israeli politicians like Ben Gvir, Smotrich and Netanyahu. Amichai Chikli, the Israeli Minister of Diaspora Affairs, has invited Tommy Robinson to visit Israel as a guest of the Government. Inviting Britain’s leading fascist to Israel is an insult to all of us who say Never Again.
The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory says the Israeli government has committed genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza; these people all support that genocide.
They promote racism and Islamophobia against the Palestinian people. Their strategy is to label as ‘hate marches’ the peaceful demonstrations calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and opposing the far-right Israeli government’s genocide and enforced famine.
They all support the Israeli Government’s imposition of what numerous human rights bodies including Amnesty International, Al Haq, B’Tselem and Human Rights Watch describe as apartheid.
We call for unity against fascism and racism, including Islamophobia, anti-Palestinian racism and antisemitism. People who support genocide and apartheid are not welcome on SUTR demonstrations.
The Israeli state does not speak for or represent Jewish communities across the world, or even all Israelis. Jewish people are not responsible for the actions of the Israeli state. Antisemitism is still a key factor in the politics of the fascists and the far right and must be opposed. Jewish communities are a crucial element in the struggle against fascism and racism.
We call for an immediate ceasefire, those responsible for genocide and apartheid to be brought to justice, and a settlement that allows people of all faiths in the region to live in peace.
We call for people of goodwill in all countries to come together in a campaign against fascism and racism, including Islamophobia, anti-Palestinian racism and antisemitism.
