Stand up to Racism, along with our sister organisation Unite Against Fascism and others, is proud to be organising or supporting
Holocaust Day Memorial events.
In the past few years we have seen a rise in racism, antisemitism and islamophobia. In Eastern Europe, we have seen the rise of far right forces who openly attack Jewish communities while in the USA we have a President who has advocated a Muslim ban. Holocaust Memorial Day is an opportunity to remember the victims of the greatest crime in human history, but also to commit ourselves to the fight against racism today.
In November we took part in the Unite Against Fascism trip to Krakow and Auschwitz, that included the family of Holocaust survivors, trade unionists, students and anti-racists. You can read a report here.
See below for events commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day. At all events we will be screening the video featuring of Holocaust survivors Leon Greenman and Esther Brunstein that was made for the Anti Nazi League in 2004 (see link here ).
