The notorious, “anti Islam” ex UKIP leadership contender, Anne Marie Waters, is to speak at the Football Lads Alliance march in Birmingham, next month.
She will be reunited with Toni Bugle, a former candidate for the far right English Democrats for police commissioner, and someone who was “dropped for PR reasons” by the FLA, after anti racists raised concerns about her last year. This was a temporary measure and Bugle has since been with the FLA on Edinburgh and Newcastle, demonstrations recently.
Both women were rightly named by the Daily Mirror, as being guilty of ‘spouting vile, anti islamic hate messages’.
Moreover, that Anne Marie Waters is speaking shatters the myth again of the FLA’s non ‘political’ nature (see below). Waters, as revealed recently in the ITV Undercover programme, referred to Muslims, as “these f***ers”. She went to say “the idea that (they) can just come and take it all. Stop all Muslim immigration now.” She also said that former EDL leader and racist thug, Tommy Robinson was welcome to join her new group, “Regardless he can’t stand for election because of his record. But I’ll certainly open up the party for him to join. If he makes his way up, then there will be no objections from me.”
Waters and her Islamophobic following attempted to develop a Pegida style group here, but was thwarted by demonstrations in Newcastle, Scotland and London, http://uaf.org.uk/2015/04/newcastle-edinburgh-now-pegida-uk-fail-in-london/
As SUTR revealed last week, what’s left of the sinking ship of UKIP, including the current leader, Batten, has received the support of the FLA. Batten is due to speak for the splinter group from the FLA, the so called Democratic FLA. The latter are due to host a demonstration in Birmingham, close to the FLA, on March 24th. (The DFLA share much in common with those they broke from eg a typical post on their Facebook page here.shows the anti muslim hate.
Batten’s appearance in Birmingham, follows a possible meeting with the DFLA held at the House of Lords, according to the DFLA.
UKIP of course, as Batten admits, is a month away from going bust if they aren’t able to raise £100,000. Anti racists will be hoping this comes to fruition.
Hence UKIP’s apparent desperation to get known far right elements to join the party.
There is no love lost between both rival FLA groups, although both, for their own reasons, may want to steer clear of each other, in Birmingham. Veterans Against Terrorism’s islamophobic leader, Richard Inman, is due to speak for the DFLA, and it’s alleged that he has thrown the towel in with the FLA. Whatever the truth is, accusations, which we showed last month aimed at the FLA founder, John Meighan, continue. ‘Where’s the money, gone’, is the common gripe of those once in the FLA, alongside threats and allegations of irregularities concerning merchandise, as now ex FLA members show here.
In light of this, Meighan is ‘taking time away’ from the office. The vitriol of former friends and FLA associates aimed at Meighan personally has been unrelenting.
It mirrors similar arguments and tensions that the EDL suffered under Tommy Robinson, someone Meighan of course, ‘respects’.
Various football firms are going to Birmingham, many promising an ‘end to silent marches’ and quiet walks. Fascists will attend, such as from the nazi group, the National Front.
These are known individuals – will they be turned away from the FLA march?
Birmingham Stand Up To Racism are circulating a well supported statement, opposing the FLA, and signed by the head of the TUC, Frances O’Grady, several union general secretaries and local campaigners, https://www.change.org/p/the-people-of-birmingham-oppose-the-planned-demonstration-in-birmingham-on-24th-march-by-the-football-lads-alliance
