COVID-19 UPDATE: UN ANTI-RACISM DAY DEMO POSTPONED BUT THE FIGHT AGAINST RACISM MUST CONTINUE

Stand Up To Racism regrets to inform supporters that we have taken the decision to postpone the UN anti-racism day protests in London and Glasgow until later in the year in response to the coronavirus and its significant threat to public health. The events will not be taking place on Saturday 21 March. A new date will be announced in due course.

We will give further details about the possibility of local and online participation on Saturday 21 March to co-ordinate with other protests and actions globally.

The developing crisis has been marked by the government’s failure to take serious action to protect people and its ongoing refusal to combat a growing mood of scapegoating and racism around the issue.

Stand Up To Racism would like to thank all the trade union, campaign, faith and local groups that have worked so hard for what was shaping up to be an excellent demonstration against Boris Johnson’s racist offensive.

We reaffirm our commitment to building a mass movement against racism in Britain.
